Introducing you to Candy, Comfort and Sam.
During the forthcoming weeks this energetic trio will be undertaking consultation interviews with Health for Haringey Projects as part of the Health for Haringey Evaluation Programme. This evaluation will provide a valuable insight into Health for Haringey’s impact and outcomes as we investigate project participants’ experiences and views of our services. As part of our robust consultative and impartial evaluation programme, Health for Haringey actively encourages feedback and suggestions on all aspects of our work .
Consultation helps us to prioritise our service and procedures to ensure we achieve objectives with maximum impact. Candy, Comfort and Sam have begun an initial 3-day Volunteer Research Training Course provided by Health for Haringey in April. The course is being facilitated by Lesley Hoggart from the Policies Study Unit, an independent subsidiary of Westminster University.

Candy, Comfort and Sam are Project Coordinators from three Health for Haringey Projects and kindly volunteered to undertake the training on qualitative interview techniques followed by research interviews with project participants.
The course involves learning how to achieve consistency and impartiality in data gathering and includes developing skills such as active listening, effective questioning Health for Haringey
When Candy, Comfort and Sam Meet the Projects techniques, and understanding ethical issues. Candy, Comfort and Sam were also involved in preparing the interview topic guides for the interviews and have
been practising their newly honed skills on friends and family at every given opportunity.

All project interviews will be audio recorded for accuracy and all respondents interviewed will remain anonymous with any revealing names or specifics blanked out. All transcript and data generated from these interviews will then be independently analysed and compiled into a report which will form part of Health for Haringey’s organisational performance appraisal and to gain a better understanding of participants needs and preferences and equally to monitor and evaluate whether we are providing value for money and delivering our objectives accurately from a community perspective.
