Candy, Comfort and Sam are Project Coordinators from three Health for Haringey Projects and kindly volunteered to undertake the training on qualitative interview techniques followed by research interviews with project participants.
The course involves learning how to achieve consistency and impartiality in data gathering and includes developing skills such as active listening, effective questioning Health for Haringey
When Candy, Comfort and Sam Meet the Projects techniques, and understanding ethical issues. Candy, Comfort and Sam were also involved in preparing the interview topic guides for the interviews and have
been practising their newly honed skills on friends and family at every given opportunity.
All project interviews will be audio recorded for accuracy and all respondents interviewed will remain anonymous with any revealing names or specifics blanked out. All transcript and data generated from these interviews will then be independently analysed and compiled into a report which will form part of Health for Haringey’s organisational performance appraisal and to gain a better understanding of participants needs and preferences and equally to monitor and evaluate whether we are providing value for money and delivering our objectives accurately from a community perspective.
